Our Story

Emilie Davidson Hoyt is President and Founder of LATHER, a natural skin and hair care company that helps people lead a healthier, more radiant life.  As a lifelong migraine sufferer, it was a desire for good health that inspired Emilie to explore natural ingredients and use her experience to help others. After discovering that many of her headaches were triggered by synthetic fragrances, she transformed her passion for wellness and aromatherapy into creating the best skin and hair care products using only unique natural ingredients from around the world.

Emilie opened the first LATHER flagship store in Pasadena, CA in 1999; today, others stand in Atlanta, Fairfax, Scottsdale, Honolulu and a LATHER Spa at The Modern Honolulu and LATHER products available in hundreds of boutiques, hotel properties, spas and resorts worldwide. Emilie also consults with four and five-star properties such as Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons and Rosewood to create one-of-a-kind signature collections. She is a graduate of Pepperdine University.

A long-time supporter of the National Headache Foundation for migraine awareness and education, Emilie has been a recipient of the organization’s Patient Partners and Golden Trumpet Awards.
